Design already has a voice in the boardrooms
What Design needs to do is shut up and learn to listen. No more need of definitions, frameworks, methods and tools. A good engineer (problem solver) will find a way to get what needs to be done completed given the right set of criteria, conditions and operating environment characteristics. First principles need to be taught to human centered designers, along with the business ethics course from MBA with a sprinkling of finance and gaming theory.
